The James Bond movies are some of the best in the world of spy thrillers and it would make sense that after a while, the gadgets that we saw in the earlier movies would actually be made available by advancing technology. A lot of people have been waiting to see what that would be like and if they could own one. Well, the good news is that Aston Martin, the company whose car is featured in one of the early movies, is making s replica.
This announcement was made a while back and they said that they would create some Aston Martin DB5 sports cars that would be replicas of the one that he used in the movie ‘Goldfinger.’ Now, replicas tend to look exactly like the car you dream about, say, the one from ‘Back to the Future.’ However, they do not have the functionality of the fictional one. However, when Aston martin announced that these ones would have functional gadgets, that got our attention. They have finally released a lost of the things that they intend to replicate and it is impressive.
When you look at the list of functional and semi-functional gadgets, you will be impressed by how extensive it is. This is like the ultimate toy. The ejector seat is literally the only thing that will not work and for obvious reasons. The car will have rotating license plates, an oil slick system, extending bumper rams, smoke screen generator and a radar screen (simulated), switches under the shift knob and armrest and a weapons tray under the seat. Semi-functioning tools include: the machine gun and raising bullets shields functions. It is only semi-functional because it doesn’t fire anything and the bullet shield might not actually stop bullets.
Aston Martin revealed a video that shows the progress that they are making on the machine guns, the smokescreen and the oil slick. The oil slick is one of the best and smoothest gadgets that they have. Just like in the movie, it comes out and sprays in a fan pattern. It will be able to spray a liquid and using oil will probably not be something that you will want to do in real life because…the environment, you know. The machine gun will not fire real shots but it is still impressive. It deploys behind the turn signals and lights up while recoiling very convincingly. The smokescreen looks like the runt in this family of impressive functions but it is true to what you saw in the movie. Smoke will come out the tailpipe.
If you wanted memorabilia that lives up to the James Bond franchise and name, this realistic and awesomely integrated machine is the one that you want. Well, the price tag is a cool 2.75 million pounds. However high it might seem the product is worth the money you will pay for it. How many times do you see a fantastic car from a film come to life right before your eyes?
